The tales
From the route
Which houses? You will find out on the night. Every stop is a private home or neighborhood business opened for one evening, marked with a Spirits of Soulard sign.
-
A stately house that was the site of fourteen deaths between 1876 and 1900, including a man fatally stabbed by his brother.
-
A lively blues café and bar where patrons and staff feel sudden, unexplained touches on the backs of their heads.
-
An expansive duplex built in 1869, where domestic servants suffered horrors at the hands of the original owner.
As featured in St. Louis Magazine , which called last year's inaugural tour a sold-out success.

About
About the tour
The Spirits of Soulard walking tour is presented by the Historical Committee of the Soulard Restoration Group, Soulard's largest advocacy group and neighborhood association. Home and property owners share the stories of events that occurred at each stop as well as their own personal encounters with the paranormal.
“Last year's inaugural Spirits of Soulard tour was a sold-out success, and we are thrilled to build on that momentum by presenting six new supernatural locales and their owners, who will share real-life history and firsthand experiences.”
Veronica Putz, chair of the SRG Historical Committee
The Soulard Restoration Group (SRG) was formed between 1974 and 1975 as Soulard neighbors informally joined together to establish a community identity. The organization was formally established by the state of Missouri on July 12, 1976. This designation allows for the preservation, protection, and enhancement of the many historical and architecturally significant buildings within the neighborhood. Over the years the role of the SRG has expanded beyond maintaining historic standards to focus on resident safety and beautification.
Proceeds from the tour benefit SRG's preservation efforts. Learn more at soulard.org , or write to History@Soulard.org.
